Find B2B leads on Reddit, Hacker News and Bluesky
People publicly ask for products like yours every day. Here's how to catch those moments — and reply while the thread is still warm.
Some of the highest-converting B2B leads never fill out a form. They post: "Any recommendations for a tool that does X?" on Reddit, "What do you use for Y?" on Hacker News, "So frustrated with [competitor]" on Bluesky. Reply helpfully within a day and you are having a warm conversation, not sending a cold email.
Why these communities work for B2B lead gen
- Intent is explicit. People literally ask for product recommendations and describe budgets, stacks and pain points in public.
- Timing is everything. A recommendation thread goes quiet in 24–48 hours. Being early with a good answer wins the lead.
- Founders outperform marketers here. A genuine, specific reply from a builder beats any ad — these communities reward substance and punish spam.
The manual way (and why it doesn't scale)
Doing this by hand means monitoring keywords across Reddit, HN and Bluesky daily, filtering noise, researching each poster (who are they? do they match your ICP? what company?), and writing a reply that references their actual words. Realistically that is 1–2 hours a day for a handful of leads — which is why most founders stop after a week.
The automated way
LeadSleuth runs that loop for you:
- Describe your product and ICP once. An AI parses it into keywords, competitor names and problem phrases.
- Daily scans of Hacker News and Bluesky surface posts with genuine buying intent, scored against your ICP. Reddit itself is not covered — commercial Reddit API access requires a licensing agreement, and we won't scrape around that; Reddit is best monitored manually or with alert tools that cover it.
- A dossier per lead: cross-platform identity, role and career history, why they fit, and a suggested warm path in — every claim cited to a public source with a confidence level.
- A ready-to-edit reply that quotes the lead's own post. You review and send it yourself — LeadSleuth never posts or emails on your behalf.
Ground rules for community outreach
Whatever tool you use: lead with help, disclose who you are, follow each community's self-promotion rules, and never mass-post. One thoughtful reply to a person actively asking beats fifty template DMs — in reply rate and in reputation.
